I had long been vocal about wanting to purchase a Kindle this year. The thing is, no one sells the device in Cebu. I had to either purchase it from online sellers or get it straight from Amazon. Thankfully, the latter is now a viable option thanks to ShippingCart’s consolidated shipping services. Simply put, it saves online shoppers from having to pay exorbitant custom fees for overseas purchases. The best part is that they’ll deliver your package straight to your doorstep.
My Kindle is quite a steal. While originally planned as a Black Friday purchase, I got a bang for my buck when Amazon slashed $30 off its original price a week later. It was an unexpected bargain that left me enough to include a JOBY Gorillapod in my cart upon check-out. Here’s a rough timeline on how long it took for my package to arrive from the US:
December 9 – placed the order on Amazon
December 10 – JOBY Gorillapod shipped from Amazon
December 11 – Kindle Paperwhite shipped from Amazon
December 12 – JOBY Gorillapod arrived at my ShippingCart address
December 13 – Kindle Paperwhite arrived at my ShippingCart address
December 15 – Both orders consolidated and ready for shipping. Paid the shipping fee (I opted for air cargo) via Paypal.
After the payment was confirmed, I received an email three days later saying my package was now on its way to the Philippines.
Factoring in the holiday rush, I’d say 15 days is pretty impressive. The package made it just in time for Christmas Eve. How’s that for efficiency? My sister was so impressed she’s already thinking of what to purchase through ShippingCart next year.
