There are three things that compels me to check-out a K-drama:
- I’m interested in the plot.
- I like the cast.
- Out of curiosity because I happened to like one of its leads in another drama.
I think it was the latter which brought me to watch Come Back Ahjussi, out of curiosity why Oh Yeon-seo has been getting a steady stream of projects lately. I never finished My Sassy Girl, Hwayugi is running longer than what is expected of a Hong sisters drama and jury’s still out on the movie version of Cheese in the Trap. It’s all thanks to this series that I started to appreciate her as an actress. She was, after all, instrumental in making Han Hong-nan such a well-loved character.
Come Back Ahjussi’s storyline is fairly simple: two middle-aged men who died are given the chance to go back and fix the mess they left with their loved ones. The overworked section chief returns in the body of a chaebol (Rain) while the ex-gangster turned chef ends up in the body of a beautiful woman (Oh Yeon-seo). Hijinks ensues as they utilize the two-month period given to make amends without giving away their real identities.
